Tagged as the "most trendy shopping centre" in Kota Kinabalu, Warisan Square has the most concentrate of brand name retailers in a mid-size shopping mall. Warisan Square uses a â€œstreet mallâ€ concept where visitors will walk and shop along the open-air area and the indoor air-conditioned shopping podium.
Situated along Jalan Tuan Fuad Stephen, Warisan Square position in the city centre is very accessible to the public. With a total of 141 retail outlets and a combined 102,677 sq ft of retailing space, shoppers will be rewarded with the experience of shopping at the many new fashion-brand outlets, and dinning at the various food chain outlets.
Chic and modern are the themes that are adopted by many of the retailers at Warisan Square. With the eating paradise of The Waterfront Kota Kinabalu just opposite the street, both these establishments have turned this part of Kota Kinabalu into the most pleasing to the eyes. This place looks even more stunning at night with so many brightly lit spotlights.
Fashion is no doubt Warisan Square number one attraction. Quality and branded fashion stores like Espirit, Quickslivers,and Timberland have clothings, shoes, and accessories for both, men and women. Mid-ranged branded clothing companies like Padini, Baleno, and FOS also make their presence noticeable. Many smaller fashion retailers with various trends for different age groups are scattered around the shopping centre.
Time Book Store at the entrance of Warisan Square is reckoned to carry the most amount of English book titles in Kota Kinabalu. From fictional to non-fiction books, business to cooking books, magazines to novels, there are lot of books to satisfy the reading community.
Chamber and Living Concept help to add extra comfort and lighten up the house for the home owners. Live Concept sells many furnitures from the number one furniture store of the world, Ikea. Just next to Living Concept is the Chamber, which has many decorative items for one's home.
No shopping mall is completed without its food corner. Warisan Square is no different. The crowd favourite is at the food alley. Where three restaurants and an ice cream house line up on the centre alley, about 80 metres long. The Fish & Co is specialise in seafood, and the La Manila serves many different types of asian delights. The popular Malaysian food chain Secret Recipe just beside this food alley.
Hong Kong style restaurant is gaining some popular vote here. Two Hong Kong style restaurants have set up outlets at Warisan Square. The more affluence of the two is Restoran Henglong, which is well known for its "xiao long bao" and "la mian". While Hong Kong Recipe has general Hong Kong style Chinese cuisines. Wong Kok Char Chan Teng situated along the two serves up a completely different cuisine, it has Japanese Cuisine instead, namely dishes like Japanese Curry Udon and Japanese Curry Ramen.
Chatting, Socialising, and Surfing online while sipping coffees are the common sights at the cafes these days. Starbucks Cafe and San Francisco Coffee occupy the two corners at the Warisan Square front entrance. Delifrance, OldeTown Kopitiam, Big Apple Donuts & Coffee, and other smaller cafe outlets are also presented at the mall.
Imperial International Hotel and Radius International Waterfront Hotel are the two hotels in Warisan Square. Both have a combined rooms of 308 units, which provide a good night sleep to the ever increasing tourists arrival at Kota Kinabalu. The rooms at both hotels offers guess with a spectacular sea view with the surround islands, and also Kota Kinabalu City views.
